Awake Breast Augmentation, also called Breast Implant Surgery
"Awake Breast Augmentation" - is done in our office under local anesthesia* and with a mild sedative* if you so choose. Now, you can get the natural, full-balanced look you want without general anesthesia.

Compare Before and After
There is nothing like a visual to explain the dramatic difference that bigger, fuller breasts can have.

These photographs are before and after images of patients' surgical results without clothing. Some images may not be suitable for everyone, including children.

Approve the Size
Dr. Bennack uses a mild sedation and an infusion of a numbing agent into the chest and breast area*. With this procedure, the patient can view immediate results and give approval of size while awake. This added benefit is a definite plus as many women say it is difficult to determine what size implant to choose before the procedure. With Awake Breast Augmentation, the patient can ask for saline to be removed or added to make her breasts smaller or larger.

A saline-filled or silicone gel implant is used, and because Dr. Bennack uses an inframammary incision (crease or fold incision) under the breast, the incision is hidden and a scar is not visible. The procedure takes about two hours and patients can be back to work in 3-4 days.

Who can benefit?
An ideal candidate for breast augmentation is someone who feels their breasts are too small or uneven, that they are out of proportion to the rest of her body, or may be sagging and deflated after childbirth.

The results of the procedure are a natural, full look.

Breast Augmentation Progression
What to expect after having breast implants

After Surgery
Immediately after surgery and several weeks post-surgery your new breast implants will likely sit high on your chest as well as be hard and swollen.

This is normal. As the weeks progress, the breasts will soften and the implants will begin to 'fall' into a more natural position to achieve the look you were waiting for.

2 Weeks After

The photos show this progression. A patient, age 43, with saline breast implants (405cc) is shown two-weeks post-surgery. Her breasts appear very high on her chest and wide at the sides. After massage, which begins two days post-surgery and which we will instruct you on, the breasts will begin to soften.

10 Weeks After
The second set of pictures, taken ten weeks post-surgery shows you this progression. The breast implants now sit lower on the chest and are closer together.

Crescent Breast Lift
Dr. Bennack is now offering the Crescent Breast Lift for patients desiring a "minor lift." The Crescent Lift can be done alone, or with implants to augment the breasts. The technique involves removing a crescent-shaped piece of tissue above the areola and re-suturing the tissue higher. Call for a free consult to find out if the Crescent Lift may be right for you.
