Lip Enhancement and Correction Treatment in San Antonio
As we age our lips thin and lose their fullness and we develop fine lines and wrinkles around the borders. The Vermillion Border or the outline of the lip becomes lost and our lipstick may bleed up into the upper lip. Our upper lip may lose its definition and become flat and unattractive. Even without aging we may not be happy with the shape or fullness of the lips due to heredity or sun damage.

Solutions Available

Lip Fullness
Lip fullness can be enhanced with a variety of dermal fillers. Our favorite for lips at Radiance is Restylane® and Juvederm™. Restylane provides a fuller more luscious lip and is usually done after a dental block to eliminate pain. The swelling lasts for 2-3 days and there can be bruising lasting up to a week or more. The final appearance will be at about 3 to 4 days. Results last about 3-6 months. Juvederm is a more subtle filler for those who want just a little fullness with no down time and can be less painful to inject and most do not need a dental block. It lasts from 3-9 months depending on the person.

Vermillion Border
Vermillion Border definition can make lips appear slightly larger and can eliminate or soften the lines around the mouth. Our favorite product for this is Cosmoplast a collagen derivative. It is injected into the line at the edges of the lip to bring out definition in the lip and eliminate any lipstick from running up the lip. Generally no dental block is needed as Cosmoplast contains lidocaine and the pain of the injection is minimal.
