What is Floating?
As its name implies, it involves floating in a tank (or a pod) in water so dense it is impossible to sink. With a higher salt density than the Dead Sea, you are able to relax in an almost zero gravity environment without having to worry about keeping yourself above water.

Why is Floating Beneficial?
The goal of floating is to block out the noise and worries of the world in order to help the body achieve a relaxed, restorative state. Some people compare the calming experience of floating to meditation or yoga.

Flotation Therapy is essentially a way of achieving deep relaxation by spending thirty minutes or more lying tranquilly in darkness – or your choice of colorful lights – effortlessly suspended in a warm solution of water and Epsom salt.

Even those who suffer from extreme claustrophobia are able to take advantage of the relaxing properties a float pod provides (the lid can remain open if you wish).

Most people become comfortable after just a few minutes.

The deep relaxation state achieved by the float pod stimulates blood flow through the body, allowing it to recover from a variety of ailments such as stress, muscle pain, and injuries. In addition, the body’s naturally occurring endorphins are released, which are associated with relaxation and meditation.

Many people also have seen neurological benefits as a result of total relaxation such as:  intense relaxation of the mind and nervous system, enhanced creativity, idea generation, problem-solving and recovery from jet lag. Some studies have even shown that floating may help reduce the risk of cancer and other diseases, as well as lower blood pressure

Others report you’ll have the “best sleep of your life” the night after floating and in the morning you’ll feel completely restored and rejuvenated the entire day. Furthermore, the Epsom salt works wonders on your skin and hair.

 

PLEASE KEEP THESE THINGS IN MIND

We don’t want you to be uncomfortable from too little or too much food before your float. Be sure to eat a light meal 30 minutes to an hour before your appointment.

Try to avoid caffeine and alcohol for about 4 hours before your float. They act as stimulants and can make you feel energetic and/or restless, keeping you from achieving total relaxation.

Avoid shaving for about 8 hours before you float. Shaving can make your skin sensitive, and the Epsom salt can sting if your skin is irritated.

Please attempt to arrive 15-30 minutes before your appointment time. There’s a little bit of paperwork to fill out, and you’ll be able to take advantage of our popular Relaxation Room.

People typically float in the nude or in a swimsuit. Rest assured you will be in your own private float suite and it is very secure. The water is completely cleaned and filtered between floats. It’s cleaner than your favorite hotel hot tub.

Your own private suite will have a place for your personal belongings. We’ll provide a soft, fluffy spa robe and sandals for you to wear before and after your float. We’ll also have all of the basic toiletries you might need – shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, contact solution, contact cases, combs, brushes, and a blow dryer.  However, feel free to bring any of your own personal items that you might want or need.

We also supply ear plugs, and Vaseline to cover and protect any small cuts, scrapes, or sensitive areas from the salt solution.

If you  cancel your reservation within 24 hours of your float, you will incur a $50 cancellation fee.
